Mission: To reduce the incidence of waterborne disease and death through the provision of adequate sanitation, safe drinking water and hygiene education for the indigenous peoples of Ecuador.

Main Target Audience: Anyone interested in the eradication of disease and provision of basic life needs such as water. Education of women and children is advanced when the daily time to haul water for miles is eliminated.

How funds are used: All donations are used to purchase supplies to build water systems for indigenous communities in the Andes Mountains and Amazon Jungle of Ecuador. The recipient communities supply all of the labor for installation, provide their own latrines, purchase and install water meters, participate in hygiene training and establish a water board to oversee system maintenance and collect water use fees. Technical assistance is provided by the Safe Water in Ecuador committee and Ecuadorian engineers and technicians.
