Information: Mission: The Michigan Abilities Center’s (MAC) mission is to improve the physical and emotional well being of clients of all ages with special needs by providing equine assisted therapies and educational experiences that focus on strengths and abilities, not disabilities. Innovative, effective, and enjoyable therapy programs are customized to achieve goals, improve function, promote wellness, enhance self-esteem, and empower clients. Equine assisted therapies, including hippotherapy, therapeutic riding, equine facilitated learning, and other therapeutic & recreational activities are offered for clients and their families year-round at MAC.

Recipients of MAC’s services: MAC serves children, adolescents, and adults who have physical, mental, emotional, or learning challenges. Youth and adult volunteers also benefit and discover the healing, teaching, and empowering effects of “horsepower”.

What MAC intends to do with funds raised: Funds will be used to enable MAC to 1) obtain additional adaptive riding equipment, 2) provide special events and educational programs, and 3) assist with scholarships and operating costs.
